We are also playing some pretty incredible shows in the Denver area as well.  Watch for us at the mighty DOYLE show and at another amazing Denver festival that's still under wraps.  We will also be playing some of our favorite room with some favorite local bands.

Album Update

One of the things we are most proud about with Eyes of Blue Light is the broader songwriting input from band members.

While Paul Anop was the primary composer for Necropanther, Eyes of Blue Light features songs from a deeper writing pool.  Paul wrote four songs for EoBL, drummer Haakon Sjogren wrote four songs and guitarist Joe Johnson contributed three tracks to the new album.

All three, both individually and collaboratively, wrote the album's Dune-inspired lyrics.

We recently learned that a track on EoBL shared similarities with a song released in 2006 by an American Heavy Metal band from Austin.  The track in question was written by a former band member and this was his only composition on the album.  The other members of Necropanther do not have deep familiarity with the Austin band, so the similarity was not previously noticed.

We pride ourselves on originality and artistic merit and it was extremely disappointing to discover (after the album was completed) that this song fell short of those standards.  This track will no longer be performed live.

Imperium Overture introduces the story line of DUNE, which is chronicled in this upcoming release.

FREDRIK NORDSTROM TO WORK WITH NECROPANTHER

Famed producer Fredrik Nordstrom, architect of "The Gothenburg Sound" and studio mastermind behind bands such as At The Gates, Arch Enemy and In Flames, will mix and master the upcoming NECROPANTHER album "Eyes of Blue Light."

NECROPANTHER will travel to Nordstrom's Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden to complete the production process of this highly anticipated album.

"We had a lot of discussion as to who could best produce this album, and agreed that Mr. Nordstrom was the ultimate choice.  We were incredibly excited when he agreed to work with us after reviewing our demo," states Paul Anop, NECROPANTHER guitarist and founder.

This will be the sophomore release from the Denver-based death metal band, and is a concept album based on Frank Herbert's classic "Dune."

"We have a wide range of sounds and writing styles within the band," states Joe Johnson, guitarist, "and concept albums allow us to incorporate that into a cohesive package."

Eyes of Blue Light is slated for release in early 2018.

NECROPANTHER ANNOUNCES NEW BASSIST

Necropanther is proud to welcome Marcus Corich as the new bass player for the death metal quartet.  Corich, along with Necropanther drummer Haakon Sjogren, were founding members of HAVOK.

"It's great to be working with Marcus again.  He's an incredibly talented musician and we're excited about the new dimension he brings to Necropanther," states Sjogren.  Corich also played with Sjogren and Necropanther guitarist Joe Johnson in MOORE, a previous Colorado metal band project.

He is filling the void left when previous bassist, Kyle Hupp, made the decision to return to Kansas.  "We had a blast playing with Kyle and we wish him the best.  However, Wichita is just too far for band practice," says Necropanther founder Paul Anop.  "It was extremely fortunate that Marcus was available to step in so quickly."

Corich joined Necropanther in time to record the tracks for their upcoming release, and will make his live show debut when the recording process is finished.  When he's not playing metal, he can often be found doing extremely risk maneuvers at Colorado skate parks.
